M.A.P. International Freight Inc. is a well-established company providing our customers with a range of freight services throughout the world.
In addition our group of companies operates refrigerated and standard freight services throughout the World including trucking services within Canada, the U.S.A. and Mexico and we are specialists in the movement of refrigerated cargoes, chilled and frozen, canned foods, and agri-commodities in bags via ocean, air and truck transport since 1991.
Our first business was shipping frozen fish from Newfoundland to Hong Kong, and at that time there was no service from Newfoundland so we created a service utilizing trucks from the origin, then the St Lawrence Seaway to Montreal, then by rail to Vancouver; then transload into reefer containers from Vancouver to Hong Kong
We graduated to shipping frozen pork, poultry and meat shortly thereafter in reefer containers and continue doing so to this day. Now we have added frozen horsemeat, French fries and other frozen perishable items as well as some fresh fruit (apples to England and fresh fruit and vegetables to the Caribbean). We also truck frozen pork to Laredo for furtherance to Mexico.
Our customers are international trading companies for the most part as well as growers. Our market has expanded to the agri commodity business as well. We handle cargo from North America (both U.S. and Canada) on behalf of traders worldwide with emphasis on the Far East and European markets, though we are not tied solely to these markets. In 2009, we shipped over 1000 x 40’ HC reefer containers worldwide. We provide service from door to store, and as a result we are very service oriented, from origin pick up to delivery on time, with constant follow up with truckers, steamship lines and documentation (to ensure that all information is properly shown on the bills of lading, meat and health certificates and customs paperwork).
